San Francisco is known for many things (a World Series crown to name one!). Right at the top, though, has to be food. To get a real appreciation of the city’s ethnic cuisine, we suggest taking the Taste of San Francisco tour, which is available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays beginning at 8:30 a.m. (remember, breakfast is the most important meal of the day!).
The tour, which runs approximately five hours, explores cuisine, including Italian, Chinese, Mexican, & seafood. Participants will sample a variety of foods and learn about the neighborhoods and culture that produce them. Note: Taste of San Francisco is a walking tour, but in small bites as not to weigh eaters down. The tour skips the landmarks and shines a spotlight on the city’s neighborhoods, diversities, histories and colorful cuisines.
Some of the questions answered: Where is the best place to have seafood in Fisherman’s Wharf? Which Chinatown restaurant has the best Dim Sum? Exploring the number of spots would take weeks, but visitors on the Taste of San Francisco tour can get an overview in just five hours. The tour includes a free downtown loop tour—a Double-Decker bus ticket valid for 48 hours after the Taste of San Francisco tour.
Tickets cost $55.99 for adults and $40.99 for children.
